Name: Mammon.
Door: TDM Door Pass
Canon: What in Hell is Bad?
Canon Point: End of 6th chapter.
Age: Ancient/Unknown.
Appearance: Image link. A 6’6 mass of muscle, drapes in only the finest of fabrics typically revealing shoulders and full chest, numerous rings, golden claw jewellery on one or both hands. Dark hair, gold eyes, gold horns, his right horn is currently cut short. Bare feet normally covered in liquid gold.
History: Mammon is the son of the previous King of Tartaros. He was a sickly and weak child, his father establishing a secret lab in the Reverse Tower of Babylon within Tartaros and using their advance technology at an attempt to help his son. Yet despite this his attitude was always to keep moving forward, normally stubbornly and impatiently trying to do better and be better, encouraged along the way by his father’s people. He was well educated in matters to one day take over the Kingdom, as well as physically to one day fill the requirements of being King of Tartaros and King of the Guardians of Hell (tank card). He had good friendships with several of the other future kings; Satan, Leviathan, Beelzebub. The four often getting up to mischief, normally with Leviathan as a target, and something that continues into adulthood for them. He is particularly close to Satan, despite being the main source of frustration for Satan.
Mammon’s rise to the throne was near disastrous; being betrayed by the angel Metatron who he saw as family, being tricked into leaving the safety of the palace, and almost dying to an angel attack. He was saved by his father yet it cost the King his life, Mammon being taken prisoner and losing all will to fight and live, blaming himself for his father’s death. During this time Tartaros was ruled by Metatron, claiming both the King and Prince had died and he taking over, causing the country to fall into disaster as his control drove the normally prosperous land into ruin. After some time the Prince was been found, having survived and matured during his imprisonment, all attempts to kill him having failed. Learning of the betrayal by the angel he trusted and the truth behind his father’s death, Mammon used his newly acquired strength to easily break free and destroy the occupying angels who had taken over Tartaros. Metatron was locked away in a magical vault only Mammon can access, and Mammon took on his father’s name and position of King. The results came at the deaths of many of his people, including those important to him and his father, but was able to move on and become even more prosperous under Mammon than the country had ever been before.
Leading up to the start of the game, Mammon carries out his duties as expected of a King of Tartaros and as one of the great Sins; protecting Hell and his people from the on-going angel attacks and making his land and people happy and wealthy. With the arrival of Solomon’s descendant (MC) Mammon is instantly drawn to them as many of the other demons are. For Mammon this is more due to this human themselves than their ancestor, describing his time with Solomon more like a game than the dedication other demons had to Solomon. He has done his best to keep the human safe from angels, to aid Satan’s land against attacks, and maintain his own land as Leviathan and his people try to find a way to aid their efforts against Heaven’s attacks.
Personality: Despite the normal connotations of ‘Greed’, Mammon is a bright, cheerful, and generous demon. In his normal life (even though angel attacks are normal) it is rare to not see him in a good mood or with a smile on his face. This extends to the fact it is near impossible to insult him, seeing those thrown at him as some new endearments or not taking them seriously at all. It’s as if he’s emotionally and mentally shielded just as strongly as he is physically thanks to his Guardian role. He spends his gold easily when he finds something he wants, shows no hesitation in making grand showings for his people and visitors, and willing to gift easily to others. Because there is none richer than him. Bar the MC who Mammon offered himself too, the MC becoming Mammon’s master and thus owning all Mammon owns.
Mammon however is very serious both as a Guardian of Tartaros and Hell, but also as King of Tartaros. He is King, it is his purpose to see his people prosper. He works hard to keep it this way, often ‘overworking’ by human standards, always being at least a day ahead on his work, using work to distract from his insomnia, and always looking for new ways to make profits from every possible source. If it is something that can bring him gold and wealth then he will do it. As King of Tartaros he also took up the role of King of Guardians; demons of Tartartos specialized as ‘tanks’ to take incoming damage and protect others. His forces are expected to be on the front of the front-lines, and he at the front of them, shielding all others with giant golden hands and gold shields, taking anything angel attacks can throw at him.
None is a stronger shield than Mammon, and none are wealthier than he. He is Greed, and he is Hell’s Shield.
Positive Trait: Generous: Mammon for being Greed is very generous with his wealth. He has no issues with gifting expensive and grand items, holding lavish events, or paying large amounts for something he wants. All of these are less than drops of water in the ocean of his wealth, and he will always find a way to make more. His good nature means he is happy to help out others; covering cost for damages and replacements, or manifesting clothing and wealth to clothe hurt demons.
Top Negative Trait: Greed: Mammon is Greed. All things that exist belong to him. All things that will exist belong to him. It’s as simple as that. While generous with his wealth it is because he owns all, thus he is required to care for all. They are his people. Even the dead are his, his own body a safe haven for Tartaros demons who have passed on and who protected him as a child. It is not an unhappy existence for these souls, they happy to serve their King even after death; his father’s advisor Bimet who led to Mammon’s freedom being a special soul that stays with him, still advising and poking fun at him to this day. Not even death gives freedom from Greed. He owns them forever.
Negative Trait: Arrogant: While Mammon’s Greed can seem good natured when seen with his good humor and generosity, it can be easy to forget as Greed he expects everything to be his. Items, people, experiences. It is his and only his and he will do anything to possess everything. He does not make demands as there is none above him when it comes to Greed. He just takes. No one has a right other than him to possess objects or people. Or souls. It’s why Mammon is so easy to throw his money around, he will always have more. Why he expects to gain something and own it, because none other should have it.
Negative Trait: Oblivious: Mammon can hold a level of obliviousness to him when it comes to socialization. This is partly down to his good nature and near impossibility to be insulted, not realizing others are speaking poorly of him, and partly due to the nature of demons and their inability to lie. Mammon expects truth when spoke to him, for desires to be acted out, to not be restrained and to do what you want. While he is aware humans and angels can lie, he is far more used to the fact the demons around him cannot and do not, even though demons can still manipulate their speech to just withhold the truth, and Mammon is a good judge of this. He faces these all with good humor and brightness, seeming unconcerned with those attempting to mislead him. After all, if one does, he will just punish them.
Powers and Abilities: As a King, Mammon has a high level of physical strength and resistance, even higher as a Guardian, but can still take injuries in a serious fight with the other Kings (normally Satan). His primary form of attack/defense is summoning giant, tower-like golden hands from the ground that; crush enemies, can be used to hold items/people, used as platforms, and protect by producing cover, including a dome-like shield that appears along with them in front of the hands.
He is able to manifest wealth at will or passively, often dropping gold and gems as he walks. He can create items as small as clothing and jewelry to as large as entire gold houses in an instant. It can be assumed the gold on his feet are also just a created aesthetic he can choose to have when he wants it.
Power Nerfs: Decrease of power to work to the level required by game, below that of city destroying. Decrease size/number of hands he can generate at once. Decrease level and size of items he can summon at will, to limit to clothing and jewelry for himself, as well as his liquid gold on his body. Loss of the souls he holds within his body.
Inventory: Cell phone; magical golden key that leads to a private vault (currently acting as prison for the angel Metatron, never to be reopened); a lock of lavender colored hair bound together with a pink ribbon.
